Poem corner.                      Deepavali The clear blue sky The scent of flowers, The colours of Rangoli, And the sound of crackers. The gifts and sweets frome dear ones, And the getting of their love, The light of the candles below, And the dazzling fireworks up above. Lighting lamps at out homes, Making the less fortunate smile, putting on new apparels, show our friends some style. paying respects to the gods, And decorating for them the thali, This is what the occasion is all about, This is the spirit of Deepavali.                         Happy diwali                     Written by sachin j. The cat scan      One day, Ricky's dog got seriously ill.He was fed up of performing daily tasks and wanted to rest for a few days. Ricky took the dog to the veterinary doctor. The doctor examined the dog and declared that the dog was well. Ricky doubted,"If the dog is well, why is he not able to perform his task?"The doctor said,"Give him this medicine and bring it tomorrow again." Ricky did as the doctor asked.       Next day, Ricky took the dog to the doctor.The doctor asked his assistant to bring a cat. The cat sniffed the dog and went to the other room without any reaction. The dog did not give any reaction;the doctor brought the cat again. This time the cat bit dog's tail, the dog got angry and pounced on the cat. Ricky smiled on seeing his dog back to normal. Ricky thanked the doctor and went back home happily with his dog.

How the Turtle Saved Its Life Once a king built a pool in his palace for his young children to play in. He ordered his men to put some fish into the pond. By mistake, the men also put in a turtle.      One day the princess went into the pool to play, she saw the turtle and got afraid. She ran to the king and said,"There is a demon in the pool," Then the king ordered his men to kill the turtle. But they did not know how to kill the turtle. Then an old man said,"why don't we throw him into the water from where the water flows out over the rocks into the river.He would be killed  that way." When the turtle heard this, he said," oh no! Please don't do that to me." The men did as the old man suggested and hence, the turtle was led out. The turtle was happy as he swam back home.

The Wolf and the Crane                           A wolf was eating an animal it had killed. Suddenly, a small bone in the meat got stuck in his throat and he could not swallow it.    Soon, he felt terrible pain in the throat, and ran up and down seeking for something to relieve the pain.     He asked everyone he met to cure him. At last the wolf met the crane.     The Wolf said,"please help me. I will give you what you want." The crane agreed to try and told the wolf to lie on its side and open its jaws as wide as it could. Then the crane put its long neck down the wolfs throat and got the bone out of its throat.     Then the crane said,"will you kindly give me the reward you promised?"      The wolf grinned and showed his teeth and said,"Be content. You have put your head inside a Wolf's mouth and taken it out again in safety; that was your reward....

The Goat and Horse There was a farmer who had a horse and a goat. One day, the horse became ill, so the farmer called the vet. The vet said ,"well, your horse has a virus. He must take this medicine for three days. I'll come back on the fourth day and if he' s not better, vve 're going to have to pur him down."      The goat went to the horse and said," My friend get up or else they're going to put you to sleepl" On the second and the third day, the horse was given the medicine. One the fourth day, the vet came and examined the horse. Then he said," Unfortunately, we're going to have to put him down tomorrow." After they left, the goat approached the horse and said ,"Listen pal,it's now or never! Come on! Get up!" All of a sudden, the owner saw the horse running in the field and began shouting," My horse is cured. We must have a grand party. Let' s kill the goat".

The crow and the Snake                 Once upon a time there lived a pair of crows on a huge mango tree. One morning,when the crows went in search of food, the snake crawled up the tree and  ate some of the eggs. When the crows came back, they were shocked  to find some eggs missing.     As the days passed, the snake grew greedy and ate up all thd eggs. The fed up crows decided to ask their friend, the wise fox for advice. The fox came up with a plan. "in the morning, go to the river bank," he said . " When the ladies from the royal family come to bath, just pick up a necklace and  drop it into the snake's hole."    Next morning,the female crow did as told. Seeing this, the royal guards chased the crow and reached the snake`s hole, When the snake came out, one of the guards took out his spear and killed the snake. The crows were happy and lived happily on the same tree.

The Hungry Mouses There lived a mouse that was hungryfrom many days. she could find no food at all. She looked here and there, but found no food. Hence, she grew thin.      One day the mouse found a basket full of corn. There was a small hole in the basket. She went inside and began to eat the corn greedily. As she was very hungry, she went on eating and eating. Now, she had grown very fat.       After the meal, the mouse tried to come out of the basket, she could not. Now, she was too fat to pass through the hole.      She said,"How shall I come out?" Just then a rat came along,and he heard the mouse.       The rat said," Mouse, if you want to come out of the basket, You must wait till you have grown as thin were when you went in."

Diary of a Wimpy kid: Rodrick Rule Rodrick Rules is a sequel to the colossal hit 'Diary of a Wimpy kid'. The story rotates around an 8th grader Gregory Heffley who is facing some problems. The new academic year has just started at school. Greg, in his journal, initiates by focusing on how disastrous his summer vacations went. Greg is a kid,who is considered as a recluse by his peers due to the"cheese touch". He tries to forget the past things as a new and fresh academic year is about to start, things do not go well with him as his own brother Rodrick Heffley knows one of Greg's dirty secret. Greg has to face many situations like, wooing girls, prosper in the talent hunt being conducted by the school and the most important of them all, hiding his secret.

         The Deer Who Played Truant        One day a doe brought her son to a wise deer teacher.she said to the teacher,"My dear master,please teach my son tricks to save himself from danger."       The teacher agreed and started  teaching the doe from the next day. for the first few days, he took the lessons, but as the days passed it became restless. He was interester in playing rather than learning tricks to save himself from dangers.soon he also started missing his classes.      One day, while playing, he stepped on to a snare and got trapped. When his mother got to know about the incident, she broke into tears. The teacher went up to her and said,"Dear sister, sorry for what happened to your son. I tried to teach him,but he was not willing to learn.

The Mighty Fish A long time ago,there lived a fish in a lake who always thought about the well-beings of the others.once there was a terrible drought that made the lake dry. Due to this many creatures living in the lake lost their lives.the fish lay buried under the mud along with some other creatures.soon theyl became the prey of the birds and beasts.seeing this,the fish thought to do something to save itself and the other creatures.       The fish tried hard and came out on the surface.there is performed the solemn act of truth.l-le called upon the god and prayed,"o lord! Pardon our sins. Please sendrain and relieve all the creatures from this misery."he prayed truly from the heart that the god accepted the fish's pray.and sent heavy rains to the earth. Hence,the fish and the other creatures were saved.

The Beetle Who Challenged the Elephant                                                   One day a dung beetle was flying in the streets. Suddenly ,it spotted a dustbin at a corner. She went to it and foud some;liquor bottles.she flew near the bottles and licked the few remaining drops.Then,buzzing happily,it returned to its heap of dung.       After sometime,an elephant was passing by the dung heap.it smelled the dung and moved away due to its foul smell.The beetle saw this and got angry.it was under the effect of the liquor,so she thought that the elephant was a weak animal;She went to the elephant and said,"Let's fight and see who wins."The elephant ignored her. The beetle was overexcited and started challenging the elephant.The elephant lost his patience and crushed the bettle at once under his limbs.         ...
